This Project canīt be shown at Telepolis. The basis of the Fabel-Project is an electronic library which stores and administrates architectural plans, sketches and institutions. Architects and engineers are realizing different views of their designs in their CAD-tools, so that they can change or combine them with other sketches very easily. Doing this, architects are confronted with the same problems again and again. Now, instead of having to solve them over and over again, they can activate similar drawings stored in the library, in order to integrate them in their drafts with a paste-function. In addition, there are a number of formalizable restrictions and requirements which could be assessed automatically. Smaller repairs or adaptions could also be done automatically where appropriate. The Fabel prototype offers the retrieval of similar drawings or graphics with three different, combinable comparison methods for semantical, geometric, topological and structural aspects. Associative MemoryThe cases are indexed according to type and attributes of technical objects and according to their frequency of occurrence. An associative memory is used for similarity comparison.
Distance MeasuresThe cases are indexed as above. Similarity is identified by distance measures.
Raster DisplaysThis method compares raster displays on different levels of grain size.
