At the end of the 20th century, the developments of cities as well as of the architecture of their buildings is no longer ruled by local logics. International interests, the movement of central urban elements into the suburbs or the disappearing of traditional forms of urban communication define global criterias for each attempt to intervene by means of planning or designing into the processes of urban or architectural developments. The greatest challenge for city-planers and architects is the progress in the are of the New Media.
