Education and Science

The educational and scientific district is one of the most promising and most densly populated districts of Telepolis. In this realm approaches to the networking of schools will be demonstrated and the phenomenon of the digital classroom as well as developments of virtual realty educationial programs and devices in the medical and scientific sector. The "intelligent agents" are playing a big part in the aquisition of information. They are virtual software characters whose task it is to help the user find his information by doing self- reliant research work. They learn from the orders of their clients, they are moving in the networks without being directed and they are getting more and more experienced in tracking down and filtering information. Another feature in the scientific district is a "publishing-on-demand"-project. Every visitor will get the chance to compose and print his own individual catalogue from the information that he can access online. This online catalogue has the advantage that it can be continously updated.
