The researcher is sitting in an improvised TV-studio in the
rainforest of the central American state Belize. Via sattelite
he is talking with a student in Massachusetts who is
manouvering a diving-robot through a coral reef in the
Caribbean. The students who are globaly linked via net are
approaching complex problems in a playful way. The weekly
research reports are being published in the Internet as an
electronic scientific journal.. The National Museum of
Liverpool, England, is coordinating the "Jason"-contacts in
Europe. It is linked to the "Jason"-Net through the PAN-AM-
Sattelite. This year "Jason IV" will set out to explore the
solar system. The Goddard Space Flight Center of the NASA and
the Johnson Space Center in Houston will then be partners in
the net. Students and astronauts will communicate via video-
conference.
